We were called out to a bungalow in Tawny Close, Middlesbrough where the customer had been dealing with a persistent leak on their flat roof. Two other roofers had already tried to sort it, but the problem kept coming back.
The original fiberglass roof had been fitted without a proper upstand where it met the tiled roof. Another roofer had later tried to patch it with felt, but since felt and fiberglass don’t bond properly, it was never going to stay watertight.
We stripped everything right back, cleared out the waste, and replaced the decking with new tongue-and-groove OSB boards. We also set up full scaffolding to make sure the job could be done safely and to our usual high standard.
A brand new EPDM rubber roof was then installed, complete with correct lead detailing and a proper upstand where it meets the tiled roof. While we were there, we renewed all the fascias and guttering, giving the whole roofline a clean, finished look.
The new EPDM roof comes with a 20-year warranty, giving the customer peace of mind that the roof will stand up to the weather for many years to come.
The end result a neat, watertight job that looks smart and performs exactly as it should.
