At Samuel Moore Roofing Ltd, we’ve been busy in Guisborough once again — completing not one, but two full roof projects in the area. One of the stand-out jobs was this complete re-roof on Farndale Drive, where our experienced team tackled several hidden challenges to deliver another watertight, high-quality finish.
The Challenge
When we first inspected the property, it was clear that the existing gable end fascias and soffits were in poor condition.
They were rotten, uneven, and had been poorly fitted in the past — compromising both the appearance and weather protection of the roof.
Our Solution
To restore the structure properly, we stripped everything back to the rafters and rebuilt the gable end brickwork up to the correct height.
Once the foundation was sound, we fitted brand-new fascia boards and soffits on both gable ends to ensure strength, alignment, and lasting performance.
From there, the lads got to work on the full re-roof:

🔨 Installed new laths and breathable felt to protect against moisture

🧱 Repointed the chimney stack to secure the brickwork and prevent water ingress

💧 Fitted new lead work for durable, watertight flashing

🏠 Completed the project with Sandtoft Danum flat tiles in elegant black and grey for a modern, clean finish
Every stage of the process was handled with care and precision — as always, we left the site tidy, safe, and spotless.
